Movable Type: Helpful Snippits

Instructions and requirements for use:

• These codes will only work on pages generated by Movable Type
• If a snippit is listed as PHP code, you'll need to change the output file name to have a .php extension
• I'd advise putting some of these codes in new Index Templates and then including them onto your pages with php. This will cut down rebuild time!

Recent Comments

This will show the last 5 entries that have comments on them, with the information of the commenter of the most recent comment:

Recent Pings

NOTE: this only works in MT2.21 and higher!
This will show the 5 most recent pings to your site, with the information about which blog the ping came from, along with its URL and the date. <MTPings lastn="5"> <a href="<$MTPingURL$>"><$MTPingBlogName trim_to="15"$>: </a> - <$MTPingDate format="%m%d.%I:%M"$><br> </MTPings>

Blog Stats

This will show some details about your blog

PHP Comment Wording

Uses PHP to show different wording depending on how many comments have been left on your site. For the SSI and JavaScript verions, check this thread.
